(HPP) is a renewable energy generation facility constructed as a run-of-river type model in accordance with the region’s topography, located within the boundaries of Bulancak district in Giresun. The power plant with an installed capacity of 3.89 MWm / 3.77 MWe, generates approximately 36,589,000 kilowatt-hours (kWh) of electricity annually and supporting to the regional energy supply. The plant was opened for commercial operation in October 2015.

The power plant has a net head of 288.69 meters, which is considered as significantly high and has a design flow rate of 1.5 m³/s. Energy generation is made using a single Pelton-type turbine manufactured by the Italian company ZECO. The energy produced is transmitted to the national grid via the Tokmadin Distribution Center. Arpacık HPP works under generation license no. EU/2116-3/1485, dated June 4, 2009, and the electricity generated is made available for sale with the support of the Renewable Energy Resources Support Mechanism (YEKDEM).

The plant stands out as a compact hydroelectric power plant that enables efficient generation, especially in mountainous regions and also power plant is remarkable for its high head and low flow characteristics.
